After reading a not so favourable review, I had to submit a review of my own for Dr. Allan Strauss because if it were not for him & our treatments I would still be a burned out, tired & overweight mother of 2. My Name is Christy and after having my 2nd child and struggling to lose the excess weight and having very little energy for my week ahead I seeked the help of Dr. Strauss through great recomendation. Through a series of vitamin injections like B12 shots and a weight loss injection program with healthy eating as directed by Dr. I had built the energy to keep up with my 2 boys and the energy to fit in work out routines at the gym. I am thrilled that I have been at my goal weight for the last 6months 4 days and counting! I continue to see Dr. Strauss when in need of my vitamin shots because like most working mom's the days get busy and some crazier than others. The program was a huge success for not only myself but a friend and a one family member too. It is unfortunate and always frustrating when we try to lose weight not just to feel good about ourselves but to be a healthier, happier self. I hope that the individual complainant finds what works for them, it's unfortunate that something that has been successful for others has not worked for another, I can only hope they too will feel as great as I do today.

We visited Dr. Strauss for weight loss in October 2011 and gave Dr. Strauss a time goal as well as a weight goal which he assured us could be reached. The patient was my husband and I went along for the initial consultation and final evaluation. The total cost of treatment was $2000 in less than two months.
We began with a metabolic shake, a blood test for food allergies, and Vella Shape. Dr. Strauss told my husband, "if you're not successful then I'm not successful and I stand behind my work." He agreed with us that this was a significant investment and if we didn't see results he would refund money.
My husband strictly followed diet and also worked out with a trainer 3X per week. He completed the Vella with absolutely no results, not a pound of weight lost, and no inches lost. Dr. Strauss then recommended an injection with diet that would burn fat, which we did as prescribed, and again no results. Dr. Strauss said it was because my husband was eating more than 500 calories per day. He wanted to continue with more injections only if Hubby would reduce to 500 calories.
We went home to consider our options, and decided that to give Dr. Strauss more money when we have achieved absolutely no results didn't seem wise so I emailed him and requested a refund of the cost of the Vella since it was a measurable and guaranteed procedure at $900. Eventually he emailed me back and I quote using copy and paste:
"After discussing with my colleagues, we came to the following conclusion.
The velashape package cost $900. I will subtract $120 for the 1 hour follow-up visit. This brings the total to 900-120 = $780.
Now because we only made it through 50% of the protocol I will only consider refunding 50%.
I have many reasons for this, and all were and have been duly noted in ******'s medical file.
Also, it is required that ****** sign a "Patient Discharge and Refund of Service Fees form" before any monetary fees are returned. In this form it will state what protocol we agreed upon and reasons for discharge. Only when this form is signed, will a check for $780 x 50%=$390 be returned to ******.

We decided that to prevent additional people from being disappointed by Dr. Strauss we would forgo signing his document and receiving the refund and instead, make our experience public.
Also, Dr. Strauss insisted on giving us a receipt that falsified the nature of the visits to his clinic in order for us to secure payment from our benefits provider. He twice gave us a receipt that was false. It was only after I insisted on an actual receipt because I was not trying to commit insurance fraud and told him that we had agreed to treatment regardless of what our benefits covered, that he provided an accurate receipt.
Would I recommend Dr. Strauss? The results speak for themselves. No results and he did not stand behind his work.
