She grew up in Vancouver/Burnaby and graduated from Burnaby North Secondary. As well, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of British Columbia and worked at UBC as a social science researcher. She has a unique and comprehensive approach to improving health and treating illness by focusing on prevention, and using natural substances and treatments to help to support and stimulate the body's ability to heal itself.
